Affiliate Disclosure
DashCamPilot is being developed as a publication supported in part by affiliate marketing. If affiliate links are introduced, a qualifying purchase through a link may earn the publisher a commission. Readers should be told about that relationship before relying on the associated recommendation.
Amazon enrollment and a tracking tag have not yet been confirmed for this project. Monetized product links are not activated in the foundation setup. We do not claim to be an enrolled Amazon Associate until that status is verified.
Why this information belongs beside the recommendation
A commercial relationship can matter to a reader's assessment of advice. You should not need to investigate a footer or interpret an unfamiliar label to understand that a publisher may benefit from a purchase.
This page explains our approach, but it is not intended to replace a clear disclosure in the relevant article. When monetization is introduced, the explanation must appear where readers can connect it with the recommendation and link.
The FTC explains that affiliate relationships should be disclosed clearly and conspicuously. Our publishing standard is to use plain language about the potential commission and avoid hiding it behind vague commercial terminology.
If you encounter a product link here and cannot tell whether it is commercial, contact Tanim at [email protected] with the page address. Ambiguity should be checked, not left for the reader to solve.
How an affiliate relationship differs from selling a product
An affiliate publisher refers a reader to another business. The reader then decides whether to visit that business and whether to make a purchase under its terms.
DashCamPilot does not become the retailer simply by discussing a product or linking to a seller. We do not process the order, control the stock, approve a refund or determine the manufacturer's warranty response.
If you choose to buy something, review the seller, exact model, bundle contents and current terms on the destination site. A familiar product name is not enough to establish that two listings contain the same equipment.
Questions about an order should go to the organization handling it. Our contact address is for editorial and site matters, not a substitute for a retailer's verified support channel.
A commission must not supply the verdict
The recommendation needs evidence that stands on its own. A product should not receive a positive conclusion because it offers a commercial opportunity, and a suitable alternative should not disappear because it does not.
For research-based content, the evidence may include manuals, specifications and documented accessory requirements. For hands-on content, it also requires a record of actual observations. The affiliate relationship does not change those standards.
The writer should explain who may benefit from the product and who should skip it. If the setup requires additional equipment, a particular installation or an ongoing service, those conditions belong in the decision.
We do not assign invented scores, copy retailer ratings into an editorial test result or claim personal use to make a link more persuasive. A commercial page must meet the same factual standard as an informational page.
What we will disclose when links are activated
The relevant page should tell readers that qualifying purchases through certain links may support DashCamPilot through a commission. The wording should be understandable without a background in affiliate marketing.
Disclosure placement needs to suit the actual layout. A statement that is obvious on a desktop may be separated from the recommendation on a phone. The page should be checked where readers encounter the links.
The disclosure should not be styled so faintly that it becomes easy to miss. Nor should it be buried in a long block of unrelated legal text that obscures the practical point.
Different commercial arrangements may need different explanations. A supplied review unit is not the same as an affiliate link, and sponsorship is not the same as an independently selected product recommendation.
Amazon program status and requirements
Before Amazon links are activated, the owner must confirm the applicable Associates enrollment and tracking details. The publisher should then review the current program requirements for the site and the way links will be used.
Amazon's disclosure guidance requires an appropriate link-level disclosure and identification as an Associate. That requirement is relevant when participation is established; it is not permission to claim membership before enrollment is confirmed.
We will not insert a random tracking tag, fabricate a product identifier or present a guessed product link as verified. The destination must match the product and offer being discussed.
Until those checks are complete, a discussion of Amazon as a possible future affiliate program describes the site's plan only. It does not establish an active commercial relationship or a commission-bearing link.
Prices, promotions and availability
Retail information can change after a page is written. Readers should check the destination listing for the current offer, availability, shipping conditions and included accessories.
We do not fill the site with invented prices or treat an old promotion as a permanent product advantage. A value judgment that depends on a particular offer should identify that condition rather than pretend it applies indefinitely.
Terms such as “best value” need a clear comparison behind them. The relevant cost is the complete arrangement the reader needs, not simply the most attractive number visible on a product listing.
The site should not create artificial urgency to encourage a click. If a promotion cannot be verified or its conditions are unclear, we should avoid presenting it as a reason to make an immediate purchase.
Supplied products and affiliate links can coexist
A product may be supplied for evaluation and also be available through an affiliate program. If both relationships are relevant, both should be explained rather than collapsed into a general statement about support.
The product-samples policy addresses loans, retained units and the absence of any guarantee of coverage. Accepting access to equipment must not create an obligation to publish a favorable result.
The affiliate relationship likewise does not give the brand approval rights over the article. A company can identify a factual problem and provide documentation, but it cannot require suppression of a supported limitation.
Readers should be able to understand how the unit was obtained and whether the publisher may benefit from purchases. Those facts help them interpret the context without replacing the technical evidence.
Paid placements require a different label
If a business pays for a placement or sponsored feature, the reader should understand that the placement is commercial. It should not be disguised as an independently selected recommendation merely because it concerns a relevant product.
The advertising policy describes the boundary between sponsored work and independent editorial judgments. Payment cannot buy a positive review score, a fabricated test or removal of a valid correction.
An advertiser's factual statement still needs suitable support. A sponsorship label does not make a false specification or misleading claim acceptable.
Where a page contains different types of content, their relationship should remain understandable. A reader should not have to infer which paragraph was commissioned and which conclusion was independently reached.
Your choice does not create an obligation to buy
You can use DashCamPilot's information without making a purchase through a link. The purpose of a useful guide is to improve the decision, including the decision to keep existing equipment or postpone buying.
Sometimes the next sensible step is reading the manual, checking an installation requirement or asking support about a compatibility gap. A product button should not crowd out those steps.
We do not describe every uncertainty as a reason to purchase a more expensive model. Additional features and accessories can introduce their own requirements, and not every reader needs them.
The best outcome is a choice that fits the reader's situation. A commission is a possible business outcome, not the definition of a successful article.
Links and third-party privacy practices
Following an external link takes you to a site operated by another organization. Its account, transaction and privacy practices are separate from DashCamPilot's editorial choices.
Affiliate programs may use mechanisms to attribute referrals, but the details depend on the specific program and configuration. We should not publish a universal tracking duration or privacy promise without confirming the arrangement.
Before an affiliate system is introduced, the site's privacy and cookie information must be reviewed against the actual implementation. A generic statement that no data is involved would not be an adequate substitute for that work.
If you prefer not to follow a commercial link, you can locate the product independently and review the seller's terms directly. The editorial explanation should remain useful either way.
A practical example of editorial independence
Suppose a camera offers an attractive affiliate opportunity but requires a power arrangement unsuitable for the reader's vehicle or priorities. The article should explain that mismatch even if doing so reduces the chance of a sale.
Suppose another product has no affiliate link but better meets the stated requirement. It should remain eligible for consideration if the evidence supports it.
These examples describe the standard we expect, not a claim about a specific comparison already completed. The actual article still needs to show why a product fits or fails the use case.
You should be able to inspect that reasoning without trusting a broad promise of independence. The evidence, omissions and limitations within the page are the meaningful test.
Questions or unclear disclosures
Contact Tanim at [email protected] if you believe a relationship is missing, a link is misleading or a product destination does not match the article. Include the page URL and the link or wording involved.
Do not send private purchase records unless there is a clear need and an appropriate process. We generally need the public page and description of the concern, not your payment information.
We should review a disclosure concern on its merits and correct material ambiguity. A commercial relationship must not be used as a reason to dismiss a valid complaint about how the site presents information.
This disclosure will be updated when the site's actual affiliate arrangements change. Its role is to make the relationship understandable, while the editorial policy continues to govern the quality and honesty of the recommendation itself.
